I photographed this back in May 2003 during my spring break. Fall 2002 was when I was first introduced to photography my sophomore year in high school. Have been hooked ever since then and am now in college for photography.
This was at Sea World in Orlando, FL. I took this with a disposable camera and then combined the images together. The border is from printing the images full-frame in the color darkroom, also know as a C print.
I LOVE this! I am an avid rollercoaster fan and so this gives me the excited chills from the word go. However...I'm torn. The first image is perhaps my favourite. I'm fond of grainy, "toy camera"-esque photography, so in my opinion, it is a very strong photograph, as the graininess almost helps emphasise the whirlwind sensation of being on a rollercoaster. That in mind, though, I'm curious and confused as to why that image comes before the second, which gives the impression of the viewer being *on* the ride, going up the first hill... Perhaps the intention is that the first image is us looking /at/ the ride rather than being on it? I have no issues with the last image - a perfect capture, and I love how the clouds are blurred. A great sense of motion. I love this - despite issues pointed out.
This an submersive and very amazing photo. I guess I've see this in the commercials as very high quality, but this type of tone really helps me feel the action.
In the first pic its hard, but you have flare and the clouds are so bright. Its almost as if im going there, that sense of motion and "ahh" is there. At least for me it is.
In the second photo its spot on. I love the symmetry, I love that you put the second photo in the middle. I love the depth this photo has, to have that sense of "omg, im going into the sky ahh" that most of us have in the beginning of the ride. The curves and levels are pefect for this type of mood. I love this lomo effect on pics. Not exactly lomo, but you get it. Such an interesting photo.
The third pic is just like the first. except you were able to not get the sky going nuts and flaring. This is great. It offers a change. motion is still there, cause everyone is upside down and your not. You can almsot feel like it's coming. sun light is exactly where it has to be.
Together the three photos are harmony. the symmetry and differences work together to form a documentary style photo that really brings out the experience of the moment.
Aw this exhilarates and saddens me at the same time. I can't ride roller coasters anymore, which absolutely kills me, but I shall live vicariously through your shenanigans, kk?
